Thỉnh thoảng tôi có gặp một số từ chuyên môn khi đọc một tài liệu hay bài báo nào đó mà không rõ lắm về ý biểu đạt của nó, mất công tìm hiểu khá lâu mà không có rồi vô tình bất chợt hiểu ra. Tự nghĩ rằng cũng có người giống như mình nên viết bài này, hy vọng nó hữu ích. Nội dung sẽ cập nhật dần vì không phải ngồi một lúc là viết ra được , những từ được đánh dấu màu hy vọng một ai đó giải thích dùm

Taking care of CDs

Do:

  1. Handle discs by the outer edge or the center hole.
  2. Use a non-solvent-based felt-tip permanent marker to mark the label side of the disc.
  3. Keep dirt or other foreign matter from the disc.
  4. Store discs upright (book style) in plastic cases specified for CDs and DVDs.
  5. Return discs to storage cases immediately after use.
  6. Leave discs in their packaging (or cases) to minimize the effects of environmental changes.
  7. Open a recordable disc package only when you are ready to record data on that disc.
  8. Store discs in a cool, dry, dark environment in which the air is clean.
  9. Remove dirt, foreign material, fingerprints, smudges, and liquids by wiping with a clean cotton fabric in a straight line from the center of the disc toward the outer edge.
  10. Use CD/DVD-cleaning detergent, isopropyl alcohol, or methanol to remove stubborn dirt or material.
  11. Check the disc surface before recording.

Writing On Your Palm

What format or formats should you release it in? The choices have narrowed somewhat in the last year or two, but there’s still nothing approaching a “standard”. Here’s the lowdown on the current contenders.

Ah, the simple, universal and minimalist appeal of good old ASCII. This is the format to use if you want the widest possible distribution and acceptance. Anyone can read ASCII. Unix, Windows, Mac, Palm, Pocket PC, Rocket… Heck, even an old Commodore 64 can read ASCII. Project Gutenberg, a volunteer project to preserve the great public domain works of literature in digital form, uses ASCII because of it’s universal, cross platform nature. The downside, of course, is that you have to forgo fancy formatting like italics and aside from possibly distributing the book in a password-protected .zip file, you have no security. I’m not big on copy protection DRM, but I do think that the idea of ebooks at least being read-only has some appeal, so others can’t alter your work.

Microsoft has never released a service pack for Windows98 SE. But I made a Service Pack for Windows98 SE users. It contains all Windows98 SE updates from Windows Update site and more.

It is a self-extracting and self-installing pack like Microsoft’s update files. Thus, you cannot choice files individually. However, the pack installs only required fixes for your system. Uninstallation is possible from Add-Remove Programs. However, I don’t recommend uninstallation of the pack, if you don’t have any problem.

This is only for WINDOWS 98 SECOND EDITION ENGLISH. I highly recommend that you should backup your system before installing the pack. You must have at least 32 MB of RAM.
